Chili-Lime Shrimp Tacos w/ Creamy Jalapeño Slaw

Spice up your next Taco Tuesday with this recipe from KnowBuddy Miranda V.


    For the shrimp:

  1. 1 lb of shrimp, peeled and deveined

  2. 2 tsp chili powder

  3. 1 tsp garlic powder

  4. 1 tsp cumin

  5. 1 tsp paprika

  6. 1 tsp Kosher salt

  7. 2 tbsp olive oil

  8. 4-5 corn tortillas

  9. ¼ cup freshly squeezed lime juice

  10. ¼ cup fresh cilantro

  11. Lime wedges for serving

  12. For the slaw:

  13. 4 cups total shredded cabbage (green and purple)

  14. 1 small red onion, sliced thin

  15. 1 jalapeno, seeded and minced

  16. ½ cup mayonnaise

  17. ⅓ cup greek yogurt or sour cream

  18. ¼ cup freshly squeezed lime juice

  19. 2 tbsp of honey

  20. 1 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

  21. Salt & pepper to taste

  1. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, mix together chili powder, garlic powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and lime juice.

  2. Add shrimp and toss to coat.

  3. Leave shrimp to marinate for 15 minutes.

  4. While shrimp is marinating, whisk mayonnaise, greek yogurt, lime juice, honey, and cayenne pepper in a medium-sized mixing bowl.

  5. Add jalapeno, red onion, and cabbage. Toss to combine. Let sit in the refrigerator until time for serving.

  6. Heat olive oil in a cast iron or non-stick skillet over medium/high heat.

  7. Add shrimp in an even layer and cook about 4-6 minutes flipping halfway through.

  8. Heat corn tortillas on an open flame or in a dry pan before serving.

  9. Top tacos with slaw and cilantro and serve with a lime wedge.
