Arteseans (SeaCorp Peru S.A.C.)

Sechura Bay, located on the northwestern tip of Peru, is home to one of the most interesting fisheries in the world. Each day during the harvest season, divers go out to a dedicated zone of the bay and dive around 10-16 feet to hand pick our Arteseans delicate sweet scallops right off the bay floor.

Without impacting the environment, our harvester, Ian Hanschke, and his divers work meticulously to pick the best scallops to fill their daily quota. Once the daily catch is filled, the boats go directly to the dock and are unloaded into refrigerated trucks. Within hours, all of the scallops are shucked, cleaned, and blast frozen at state-of-the-art facilities nearby.

Considered an aqua-farmed fishery, juvenile scallops are caught outside of Sechura Bay, placed in the zones, then allowed to grow naturally in these nutrient-dense waters. You will truly enjoy the uniqueness of the natural, Arteseans Diver-Caught Bay Scallops. Try them for yourself!

Aurora

Aurora Salmon is raised in fjords surrounded by the magnificent scenery of northern Norway with its spectacular light. The feed for Aurora Salmon results from a wide range of conscious choices to ensure the fish get all the vitamins and nutrients they need without introducing antibiotics into their diets. They are also fed with micro-algae to secure a high level of health, benefitting omega3-fatty acids.

Additionally, the free-flowing marine waters keep the fish healthy, active, and stress-free, contributing to the clean taste and flakey texture they’re known for. Aurora Salmon has the highest amount of Omega-3 fatty acids than any other salmon that we tested against. So, if you’re looking for the world’s best salmon, you’ve found it here!.

KnowSeafood

Harvested in an area in the North Atlantic called Georges Bank, our wild-caught, sustainable KnowSeafood Signature haddock fillets have been a New England favorite for generations.

Fishing out of our home town of New Bedford, Massachusetts, the local fishermen sail their trawlers to this nutrient-dense body of water and spend a few days towing their nets to land these native fish. Since there are limitations to how much haddock can be harvested, fish are caught to a quota and are not overfished.

Once back to the New Bedford docks, these fresh fish are processed, hand-filleted, packaged, and blast-frozen within hours of being caught.

Our KS Signature Monkfish is caught off the coast of Massachusetts and at times off the coast of Maine. The directed fishery for Monkfish is relatively new; these fish were once considered nothing more than bycatch. However, as other groundfish like cod and halibut declined in the 1980s and 1990s, more and more Monkfish were caught in New England and the Mid-Atlantic. As a result, they, too, became overfished. Now that our scientific understanding of their populations improved and fishing effort declined, Monkfish are no longer overfished.

The market for Monkfish is for human consumption. U.S. wild-caught monkfish is a smart seafood choice because it is sustainably managed and responsibly harvested under U.S. regulations. Regulations limit possession of bycatch species and require modified fishing gear to reduce bycatch.

A Monkfish Fact: A fish for monks: It's believed monks used to head down to fishing markets and ask for any unused fish. As Monkfish have an unappealing look and were often caught as a byproduct, fishmongers would give their Monkfish to the church to eat!

Our Yellowfin Tuna is hand-caught by fishermen in the pristine Laccadive Sea located between the Maldives and Sri Lanka and the native seas throughout Indonesia. Because they are hand caught, there is no harm to any by-catch, and each tuna is pulled onto the boat and iced immediately.

The catch is brought back to shore as soon as possible to greatly reduce the stress on the tuna and increase the quality significantly as compared to “long line” tuna.

Our Yellowfin Tuna leads the way for food safety and quality because of our commitment to never using any additives and our uncompromising harvesting methods and processing protocols.

Rocky Coast

Rocky Coast Lobsters from Maine! Just these words are really all that is needed to know that these lobsters are the best. Direct from the day boats that are fishing out of Owls Head, Maine, our Rocky Coast Lobster Tails are hauled from the bottom of these deep cold North Atlantic waters and brought to the dock hours later. Here’s a few reasons why Maine Lobsters make a difference.

The colder the water, the sweeter the meats there is more meat to the tail…the favorite part of the lobster for many lobster lovers. Next is the size of the lobster. The larger a lobster gets, the less meat in the tail and also can be a little tougher as well. Our Rocky Coast lobsters can only be under 5 inches in the body length, which means you are getting the best tasting lobster.

Boats are out by 6 in the morning, off-loading by 2 in the afternoon, stored in lobster tanks overnight and then process, packed and frozen the next day. Rocky Coast Lobsters from Owls Head Maine, there’s the difference!

Royal Greenland

Our Royal Greenland cold-water shrimp are a true delicacy with their bright-pink color and firm, juicy texture. From their origin in the ice-cold and clear waters of the North Atlantic and Arctic Oceans, the cold-water shrimp grow slowly until reaching full size at six years. Due to the slow growth, the flavors and texture are given time to fully develop. The sweet and savory flavors combined with a juicy bite offer a full culinary experience. The shrimp are also high in protein and low in fat, making them a healthy choice.

All Royal Greenland cold-water shrimp are caught inshore near the Royal Greenland processing facilities where they are peeled and cooked in a continuous process to preserve the delicate taste and texture. They are individually quick-frozen to make portioning easy. Gentle thawing in the refrigerator preserves the natural flavors best.
